‘I am delighted to commend the forthcoming 24/7 Prayer Week. If ever the church needs to give itself to prayer it is today. As John Bunyan put it, "You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed". It will be my and CPC's privilege to be involved in this God-honouring venture.’
Ian Hamilton, Minister of Cambridge Presbyterian Church

‘Signing up for an hour in the prayer room ekes out precious time to retreat with God, pray for the city, and be joined up with many others doing the same thing at different points throughout the week. There's an energy and strength to deliberating putting a week aside for continuous prayer and it is both refreshing and stimulating to be part of.’
Dave Monck, Children & Youth Coordinator at St Barnabas Church

‘24-7 is amazing because it doesn’t just get you praying, it changes your ideas of what prayer really is as God speaks to you. You go to the room thinking you’re going to minister to others and invariably end up getting ministered to yourself as the Holy Spirit takes over and changes your prayer into His groans for the world and for you.’
Ed Corke, Assistant Worship Leader at Holy Trinity Church

‘Prayer is a God-given gift and priority, no doubt about it. 24:7 highlights this in the clearest way possible - I am glad of how it has reminded me of that and to be part of it.’
David Pfeiffer, former CICCU President

‘I enjoyed the session so very much. I booked a slot for one hour but ended up for about 2.5 hours. I enjoyed the fervour of people around me, the unity in Spirit and was edified to see the burden people have for the Kingdom to grow in Cambridge. I look forward to the next session!!!’
Dan Paul, Prayer Ministry Leader at KingsGate Church

‘It is wonderful to have a place to go which is free from distractions, and where you can give a whole sixty minutes of undivided attention to offering praise and prayer to the Lord. An hour passes so fast!’
Catherine Barker, CICCU Exec.

‘It's always exciting and encouraging to pray for Cambridge and the World together with so many others and as part of an international movement. I'm inspired by the post-it notes and pictures on the walls, open Bibles and other remnants from the passionate people who've been in the prayer room before me, and always love to step out of my normal routine to spend time with God there.’
Sam Cocks, Homeless Outreach, Holy Trinity Church

‘When I walked down the steps into the Prayer Room it was full of God’s presence and I could sense it was a place of prayer immediately because the Holy Spirit’s presence was so strong... My prayer is that more of these prayer rooms will emerge quickly and often so that we can get the kingdom of God all over Cambridge. I have to say that that hour flew by and it felt like we’d only been there a few minutes... It was wonderful and encouraging to pray with other believers for our city and for our nation and Israel. Thank you for providing such a place.’
Lynda Smiley, Homeless Outreach, Faithlife Church

‘Prayer works! It shouldn't be a surprise; it shouldn't be news, but it was to me. 24/7 has shown me that our God is powerful and real. Why do I spend so much time trying and failing to achieve things in my own strength, when I could be speaking to the one who is really able to change them? What amazing things would happen if we were truly praying continually - 24/7!’
Hamish Findlay, Clinical Medical Student at Cambridge University
(St Barnabas Church)

'I think my best times in the prayer room have been 1) the joy of meeting Christians from other churches in Cambridge and 2) having space to be open and broken before God in the presence of others, to realise and admit my need for him and ask him to change me. And I almost always come away excited about living more for him!
Hannah Mitchell, Natural Sciences Student at Cambridge University
(St Barnabas Church)

‘24-7 prayer is great because it gives you some time away from the desk to focus on God.’
Sam Richards, Modern Languages Student at Cambridge University
(St. Andrew the Great Church)

'The Prayer Room has been for me a place where I have been able to put my stressed, distorted expectations of myself and of the world around me on pause and actually confront the Living God in happiness, fear, contendedness, anger and sorrow. This isn't because the room is itself more filled with God than anywhere else, but because of the dedicated and prayerful attitudes of the people I have met there, the community that quickly develops and the infectious thirst for God and His kingdom I feel without fail every time I go.'
Matt Ralph, Classics Student at Cambridge University
(St Barnabas Church)

‘In the midst of a frantic term, the Prayer Week challenged me to return to God anew. Being busy, a slot of an hour at first seemed excessive, but at the end of it all "higher" priorities were swept away as I met the God who says, "Return to me, for I have redeemed you." When I left the prayer room I went home, fell on my knees, and kept praying, even though it was well past midnight. You don't need a prayer room to meet with God, but with my prayer life undisciplined it was the kick-start I needed to seek God, or rather to recognise the God who was seeking me.’
David Torrance, Theology Student at Cambridge University
(Holy Trinity Church)

'I had a fantastic experience praying during the 24/7 prayer week. I felt that God was really using it to change things in Cambridge and to sow seed on ready soil. It was easy to connect with God as His presence seemed very close and I think this is down to those who had been praying before me and His delight in the whole arrangement. It was also a great chance to meet other Christians who have a heart for prayer.'
Matthew Stroud, Student at Anglia Ruskin University
(KingsGate Church)
