Last weekend Churchill College Christian Union held its first 24H prayer event of the academic year. In such a busy term it is often difficult to fully live our lives for the Lord and so this was a great opportunity to stop and listen to God as he directs us in our time at Cambridge. It is easy to take for granted the privileged lives that God has led us to and so this was a wonderful occasion to recognise that and praise him for his steadfast love and all the blessings he pours out on us. It was great to see the enthusiasm of the Churchill Christians to pray, from our new freshers to our experienced fourth years (and even one or two graduates) everyone got involved in praising God and praying for revival in Churchill and Cambridge. With two group prayer and worship sessions we were able to celebrate together the wonder and power of our Lord and encourage one another with the reminder of his love. It was fascinating to come to the prayer room at the end of the 24 hours and read some of the prayers that people had been praying, prayers of praise, prayers of thanks and prayers for friends, and as we look towards the second half of term we start to see some of those prayers answered, proof that God is working in Churchill. |
